Filling Gaps for Curling Short Hair

"Hi my name is Lauren and on behalf of Expert Village I am here to discuss short curly locks with you. As you can see I went ahead and finished Heather's other side of the head. As you can tell right back here she has a gap. Now there are two options that you can do here. You can either start dragging this up here in order to fill in that gap. You need to be careful because like I said there is not much hair here and you do not want to then create a larger gap down here. What you can do or what I am going to do is one of these barrel curls, I am actually going to take half of it, separate it and then turn it in. It is okay if it is not as full and it has a little bit of a gap but ultimately you can pull on the hair and transform where the curls are laying. If you do have a gap and you have one of these tendrils hanging you can overlay it, put a little bit of spray on it, and just kind of piece out some of those curls that you have already put in. It is a quick, easy, and effective way of filling in some of those spots but with shorter hair it can be a little bit more challenging to get some of those shorter spots to go. Most people use a hair pin which is a little bit different from a bobby pin. It does not have as much tension so it will not hold as much. You can just go ahead and simply put that in and you see all it did was kind of create the illusion that there is no gap up here and it separated and spread out those already existing curls and placed pieces that we did in order to fill in the gap. Also put one right down here because this curl is rather gathered so I am going to lift and kind of spread it out a little bit. You see it did fill in this little area. Now when it comes to the ponytail I just have to take the littlest section in order to fill in this gap. You really want to try to manipulate the hair that you have. This is another good reason why volume in shorter hair updos really helps getting your hair to actually form and just to look uniform all around and it helps to prevent those gaps from forming."
