"Hi! My name is Lauren and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to discuss short straight hairstyles. Most products today have a thermal activation in them, which ultimately helps protect your hair from old thermal styling tools and helps the thermal styling tools work with your hair. There are 2 ways that you can straighten your hair. You can use a round brush in order to do this, but what I recommend for getting really stick straight hair is a brush such as so. It's ultimately 2 brushes that clamp together as you blow out your hair. When you go through, you grab a section. You clamp it just as you would a straighten iron and you put the heat above it. That is why it is vented on the top and bottom. Then you work the brush and the dryer down at the same time in order to create smoothness and maximized straightness. Another way that you can get your hair straight is by simply using a flat iron. Flat irons come in various diameters and sizes. You can use the smaller diameter, which is only about half inch to an inch wide, or you can go to your larger 2 inch to 2 1/2 inch diameters. They come in various sizes. You really want to see what is better for you. Something like this may be a little hard for Heather to manipulate herself on her hair, but for me it serves the purpose. She may want to go for the smaller diameter, which would also mean she will have to take smaller sections. You never want your hair to exceed the hot plate that is in the straighten iron. You always want it to weigh within those limits. You need to watch the diameter of hair that you take and go over it with the straight iron. That is how you can get your hair very straight, sweet, and smooth."
