"Hi! My name is Lauren and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to discuss short straight hairstyles. Many women today want volume. With shorter hair, they don't have as much weight on their hair because their hair is not as long. It's a little bit easier to promote volume within their hair. When you are blowing it out, it is important to remember how you lift your hair. Ultimately, in a blow out you will not pick up your brush until 80% of your hair is dry. You're going to want to start your blow out by focusing on your roots. You're going to lift about 2-3 inches up. You want to really maintain control of that root so that way you can blow it back and forth and really raise at that root area. If you hold the hair too high, the hair blows out from your hand you don't get as much control. You really want to keep control and direction of where you want your hair to go. If you want over this way, you will blow it in the opposite direction by really keeping control of that area and holding onto the hair while you go. "
