"LAUREN FARRAHER: My name is Lauren, and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to talk to you about curly hair updos that you can do at home. As you begin pinning the hair, you're going to--you can make it as intricate or as easy as you possibly want to. You already have the curls in. You have a basic shape here. Right now, it is cascading. You can grab larger sections if you'd like. I normally just flip them or kinda just lay them across the top of the head and you're going to use your bobby pins to hold them in place. Again when you're doing this part, since it is the back of your head, it is very good for you to get a hand mirror and just occasionally, you can pretty much feel whether or not there are holes there, but occasionally, you're going to want to use that hand mirror and use another--your bathroom mirror in order to see whether or not you're filling in the gaps. Now, we're doing something very loose and she does want a cascading look. So I'm simply turning the hair and just kind of placing it in random areas. Just to fill in the holes, connect some of those areas and working with that curl that's already there. You can also--if it's not cooperating and if you're seeing pieces that aren't doing that, you can simply take your pin, go over your hair and just push it in 'cause a piece here is going to cover that. And you're just going to keep manipulating the hair and forming your own desired look, whether you decide you want pieces to hang or you just want them all to be placed. And that's how you begin pinning your hair."
