"OK, now we're down to lips, and it's really important to remember that the males also need to wear a little bit on their lips because they'll just fade right out into the light. But of course, you can just use a really natural shade. And sometimes, not always, it depends if you're in a theater, if you've got a proscenium theater, or you're far from the audience, you really do need to make that there's some pigment in those lip colors. But sometimes in a more intimate theater, the males can get away with using just a little bit of ChapStick or something, just to make sure it's moistened and it doesn't soak in all of the lights. So just check it out in the theater that you're using and with the director as well. And as we start with the lips, I always start, actually with a little bit of ChapStick, or with some Vaseline of some sort because the lipsticks that are made for theater are very dry and so when you try to put those on, just as we moisturize the face, we want to be able to moisturize the lips as well so we're not dragging the color across and getting a really false or fake kind of a look. So make sure that you use a little bit of some ChapStick or some Vaseline first."
