"The supplies that you're going to need to get started doing your nail art is a base coat. I prefer sticky base coat. It adheres to the natural nail better and it actually makes the polish stick better and last longer. I use a UV top coat for when you go out into the sun for long periods of time, or if you like to go in a tanning bed, it prevents the nail from turning yellow. And, it helps the polish from discoloring, or changing to a color it's not supposed to be. For polishes, I prefer an OPI brand nail lacquer, or a Sation, they have a longer shelf life, and they also last longer on the nail itself without chipping. The OPI and the Sation are both brands that you'll have to buy from an actual salon, or spa, or from a licensed distributor. I will also use striping brushes. Which are for intricate designs. They have a much thinner brush. You can get them in assorted colors, as well as glitters. You want to use those for detailing work, or for small lines that you would need. This is an acrylic brush. I use my brush when I do a French manicure. I hand paint the French on, and then I go back with my brush. I dip it in some acetone, or polish remover and then I just kind of clean up the smile line with it so that you have a nice, even line across. "
