" Hi, my name is Lillian, I am with Salon of Scottsdale in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com, and I am here today to talk to you today about expectations from a Microdermabrasion procedure. Microdermabrasion is sometimes mistaken for dermabrasion, the dermabrasion procedure is actually a surgical procedure that doctors would do. Microdermabrasion is just that – micro. What it does for fine lines for instance, it really helps soften fine lines, but some expectations of some people might be a little bit high. You are going to need, depending on how deep the lines are, you are going to need maybe six treatments once a month to soften those lines to really see a difference. For age spots, which is hyperpigmentation due to sun damage depending on how deep into the skin the spots are, that is how many treatments you are going to need to remove those spots or to lighten them. For stretch marks, the same thing, depending on how deep the stretch marks are, figure five to six treatments once a month. If it is severe acne scars or even deep stretch marks, you are going to want to use a very coarse tip and really put the vacuum at the higher setting than you would just for overall rejuvenation. Blackheads, especially around the nose for teenagers and young adult, the blackheads – the vacuum from this machine if you put it at a higher setting, it just sucks the blackheads and the whiteheads out of there. If you are going to do Microdermabrasion on minor surgery scars, you are going to want to wait at least six weeks after surgery when the skin is just pliable to receive the Microdermabrasion treatments. And again, you are going to want to do probably six to eight treatments depending on the severity of the scars. And that is about it for expectations. "
