How to Apply Nail Cuticle Softener for a French Manicure

" Hi, I’m Lillian with Salon de Scottsdale and on behalf of expertvillage.com we will now continue on with the next step on giving yourself a French manicure. We’ve already removed the polish and filed the nails the way we wanted them, which I talked about before square is preferable for French manicure. I didn’t need this tool which is the nail clipper because my nails were relatively short already and this is the length that I wanted them. So all I needed to do was file them, so I can just either leave this in here or just set it aside. So the next thing I’m going to do is I’m going to use some cuticle softener. I didn’t talk about this before when we talked about the supplies needed because you don’t always need to soften the cuticles with a softener, soaking will do just fine. I prefer to use the softener because I live in a very dried climate and my skin is very dry, so my cuticles around the skin of my fingernails are very dried as well. So what you do is you just put some cuticle softener on there and just kind of rub into each nail and you could buy the cuticle softener at a beauty supply store that sales to the public. It’s just kind a gooey kind of lotion that softens the cuticles. Now I’m ready to soak my nails, I’ll soak my nails in the soapy water for approximately 5 to 7 minutes before I do the next step."
