"Hi! I am Lillian with Salon Scottsdale, and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to talk to you now about properly storing your leftover color. Color could actually be stored for the next time you need it. Because we only did the root area, or the new growth area, we have only used half of the product, so we have some leftover for the next time. So what I do, whether you use the bottle or the tube, you put the caps back on either one of them, and I usually store them in a plastic box. If you leave the color out too long without capping it, or if you leave it on a shelf too long, or store it too long, it could actually oxidize, and won’t be good for the next time; but it usually keeps good up to about two months. When you buy the peroxide, they usually sell it in large quart sizes, so there is going to be enough for many, many applications; so that always keeps for many months, and I just store that in a plastic box, as well as my reusable bowl and brush, and my reusable bottle with a cap. My hair clips that I parted my hair with, I also store in the box, and as long as you’ve used a cape, you could wipe it down and store that in the box. And you could actually, even though those gloves are disposable, you could actually rinse those out and put a little bit of talcum powder or baby powder in them, to open them up so they won’t be sticky, and actually reuse those for the next hair color as well; so we are all set. Just put them in a box, put a lid on them, store them in the counter of the garage, or anywhere where there is a cool dry place, and you are ready for the next time you need them."
