Timing Home Hair Color

"Hi! I am Lillian with Salon of Scottsdale in Albuquerque, and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am here to show you a completed hair application. As you notice on my hair, I have colored only the new growth area, which means from the scalp to just an inch or two away from the scalp. I am trying to cover the new growth; in my case it is grey hair. So what I want to do is just cover the new growth. I am going to turn around, and as you can see, the rest of my hair does not have hair color on it. This is saving your hair from being damaged by doing it this way. I am going to now remove the gloves and set my timer for 30 minutes. When the timer goes off, I have actually saved a little bit of color; the color that is leftover. I am going to apply that on the ends for just a few minutes, but I will explain how we are going to do that after the 30 minutes is complete. So right now I have nothing to do except wait 30 minutes, so pick up a magazine that is what I am going to do. Pick up a magazine, relax, not lean on the couch where you are going to get color on it, but may be sit upright on the chair and just enjoy a 30 minute rest."
