"Hello! My name is Lillian with Salon of Scottsdale, and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to show you how to wear your protective plastic cape before doing home hair color retouch. I have chosen a plastic cape, so that the hair color won’t seep into the clothing underneath. I have also chosen a cape that has a Velcro tied around the neck. The capes come in Velcro snaps or hooks. The Velcro is actually the easiest one to maneuver. What I am going to do first is, I am going to get a small hand towel, an older one that you do not mind getting stained, and I put it over my head; I crisscross under my neck, get the plastic cape, throw it over my shoulders, and fasten it in the back with a Velcro. Just drop the towel over the shoulders. If your hair is long, you can pull out your hair. If you prefer not to wear the plastic cape, you could always use an old shirt like I talked about earlier, which I have underneath—just an old shirt that you do not care if it gets ruined. But you will probably want to put the towel over the old shirt, just so that the color won’t seep onto your skin; so it is a good idea an old towel as well."
