"Hi! I am Lillian with Salon of Scottsdale, and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to now show you how to prepare your workspace before giving yourself your home color. What I normally do is, I try to do it in the smallest room in the house, that has the best lighting and a mirror of course; and so I choose my bathroom. My bathroom is the smallest room in my house, and that way if there are any splatters, we could clean them up a little bit easier than splattering in a bigger room, where it will splatter a little further. First thing I do, I get my throw rug and I move it away from the bathroom. I have linoleum here, so what I do is I get an old plastic sheet, or in this case an old plastic cape that I have had lying around, and I throw it on the floor. Then I get an old towel that I save from color to color, that actually has stains on it. These stains would actually be on my sink had I not protected the sink, so I drape it over my sink handles; and I remove everything around the sink, and so nothing will get splattered. I also keep on hand some stain remover, that I will talk about a little bit later, taking the stains off your scalp and your skin areas. This stain remover actually works if you happen to splatter a little bit on the wall or on the mirror area. If you catch it right away, before it dries, an old towel or an old piece of cotton will actually take the stains off these areas as well. And I think we are ready to go and ready to mix the color."
