" I’m Lillian with expertvillage.com and I have now completed filing and shaping my fingernails. Now, we’re ready to apply the cuticle softener and soak in the basin, a little tube or finger bowel of hot soapy water. I’ve gotten some cuticle softener. What I do is I just dab the base of each nail. We’ll do the left hand first because I have one little tub and do that one first. After you’ve applied the cuticle softener you’re going to rub it really good even under the free edge, which is under the nail. Then do the same thing to each nail. The cuticle softener really helps to soften those cuticles even further after soaking so that when we remove the cuticle with a nipper, it makes it that much easier for the dry cuticles to come off. Just rub really good and then just place your fingers in the warm soapy water. I’m going to let them soak for at least five minutes before I remove them and remove the cuticles. So we’ll just sit and wait for five minutes."
