"I like to do the bottom lashes first, it's a little easier and we make so many funny looks in the mirror when we're trying to put on our mascara. If you do the lower lashes first it keeps it a little cleaner, cause as soon as we do the top lashes if we try and open our eyes to get to the bottom one, then you got all the smudges on the eye that you don't want. If you happen to get a little smudge of mascara up there, best thing to do is just to let it dry and once it's dry you can take a q-tip and kind of whisk it away. I'm using just plain old black mascara, I find this works best for most people unless you have very fair lashes and then sometimes a brown or a dark brown will work better.
