Adding Seam Allowance to a Pattern: Part 2

"Now, for the sleeve edge and for the bottom I'm going to add three-fourths of an inch. So, we can fold in when we're sewing. We can fold in one quarter of an inch and then we fold in a half inch and then we can see. You know, it will be a nice clean edge on the inside. So, every seam that is getting sewn to something else is getting one quarter. Excuse me, one half inch seam allowance. And, then the edges are going to be turned in and then turned up are going to get three-fourths of an inch. So, I'm just going to find the three-fourths mark on my ruler. Draw that. And, then do the same for here. Three-fourths is six-eights, right. Fractions. I never knew in high school that I would be really seriously using fractions in my life. I always thought math class was just filler. But, I guess not. Now, that I use it in my profession. I used to want them to tell me why we were learning fractions. Well, this is why you learn fractions kids! Ok. So, I'm going to mark three-fourths of an inch here just so I know that those are three-fourths of an inch seam allowances. And, then I want this to say fold. Because, I want to remember that that's on a fold. And, I'm ready to cut it out and what I'm going to do is cut out the front first. And, then I'm going to measure each seam with the back. Because, everything that you're sewing together you want to match up. Right? So, we're going to go ahead and cut this out."
