"Alright, so to begin sketching fashion, I use tracing paper and regular papers and sketch book, and colored pencils are my favorite way to communicate colors and styles or you could use water colors and we're getting into that lately; but that's a little bit more advance type of thing. I think the colored pencils are easier because you have more control. So we're gonna start with paper, and we're going to use tracing paper and I'm going to show you my big trick, my big secret on how to really sketch fashion fast and the easiest way possible, ok. So here I have perfected and outlined which is like, I would say a drawing of a paper doll almost. I've perfected an outline of this girl, there are many ways you can get to this, either free hand, maybe you don't like to try free hand and maybe you find a picture in a magazine and you put a piece of tracing paper over that picture in the magazine and you can, you know, arrive at something like this. And what you want to look for is something where there's a position that's a little bit straighter so you can see actually a garment being drawn, drawn on there. If maybe you're doing a lot of like fish, fish tale shapes skirts that go in at the knees; this pose might not be good. You might want to, you know, have a pose where her legs are, so as to show that because I couldn't really draw that on here because her legs are already apart. So, yeah, you want to start out with kind of an outline that you've arrive at, that is something that you just want to keep repeating. And, I'll show you here what we do with it next that involves tracing paper."
