"My name is Lauren and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to talk to you about styles on the go. Many women use the wrong products in their hair. Depending on your hair type, whether it be fine, coarse, very long, or very short, you should use products that are suited for your hair. You have products like your everyday mousse, which is your lightest of all holds. It is light, manageable, and when you put in your hair it leaves very little residue behind. Moving right up from that, you would then go to more or less your cream styles. Your cream styles are usually a little more boil based, have somewhat of a silicone, or tea tree oil in them. You could also use those on fine hair and coarse. Coarse hair however, you may want to go up to more of your gels. Gels have a bit more protection from heat. They also have a little bit of a sturdier hold. A lot of women you'll see sometimes when there's too much gel, their hair will be crunchy and not soft to the touch. When you put your gel in, you are to slightly lift your hair. I recommend tilting your head to the side in order for you hair to fall this way. If you're scrunching for curl, or if you're straightening, you are to run your fingers through the very bottoms of the ends first. Then gradually work your way up to the top and to the root area. If you place your product in the root first and go this way, your hair will fall flat within an hour of doing it. Your hair will also be harder to manipulate when you blow dry, and a lot harder to style. You will also not get wear out of your hair. Your hair will be dirty that night and will not work, and will not be manageable for you the next day."
