" Hi! My name is Kathy and we’re at My Lords and Ladies in Stratford, Ontario and on behalf of expertvillage.com we’re going to talk about jewelry. Specifically long necklaces, now long necklaces can be used for many, many different things even if you have it completely covered with a mock turtleneck on and it’s a solid color long necklaces look great because it just makes a statement on a mass block of color. That’s always nice to do as a casual look but if you’re wanting to be a little bit dressy and for example on here we have a nice deep V so a long necklace can go well with that, this ones taking it into a fun mode a little bit bobbley and it’s fun, there’s ribbons on the back again longer it looks great. If someone wanted to turn that into a dressier look we would just simply take a dressier necklace but again we want to take it into a long mode of a V so this V follows that V suddenly she’s very, very elegant and could go out any place dressy. Now going into a much longer field we have a long rope of all different beads coming down, this could be done simply like this…if this was solid and right through into a full length you could leave it just as it is, what I would do with this one is tie a knot within the beads very gently bringing it through so that your knot finishes off at the base of the neckline that changes the shape completely, now we have round into a V and a focal point definitely bringing it towards the cleavage line. Another way to utilize the long necklace is to use it in a very layered look we have to be sure that we don’t get this tangled in our process, so we’re going to just take and put it around but then start to wrap, I tend to want do this one up tight like a choker, the next one to the next layer, a little bit further down and one more time and suddenly now that we have large mass our long type is now going to a short one and it gives it completely different look. You can utilize a few more pieces in your wardrobe with this kind of a necklace and one more is a rope necklace, some people would just bring this around, you could use it like a choker even though it’s long, stand it up, tie a bow, we’ve made the most of the short part we still have the long, keep it off to the side, put it in the middle, whatever works for you, do the layered look with it again and with this long necklace one you can bring it on and let the dangles hang down and it can work on just about any kind of garment. When you’re sick of it like this tie around your waist use it as a belt, no one says a necklace has to be just a necklace."
