"I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to choose a red lipstick. One thing you want to take into consideration when you are trying to determine what undertones your skin is is surface tones. Surface tones are usually found in the cheek or nose area. And you can see she has some red surface tones through here. Now, we wouldn't want that to confuse us and lead us to believe that she's more of a cool undertone because she does have that slight bit of pink there to her face. Because, if we look down here in the jawline she has more of a golden undertone. So, surface tones and undertones are different things. Undertones are your main coloring to your skin. Surface tones are something that maybe has been caused by either a sensitivity or something that has been caused from an allergy or an irritation or just environment through time. So, keep that in mind when you are trying to determine what undertone you are that will help you choose colors of lipstick, eye shadows and so on. So don't get confused by surface tones and undertones in the skin."
