"You want to take care of your skin. I always say your makeup is only going to look as good as the skin underneath it. Just make sure before you start your makeup, your skin is completely cleansed. We just washed her face with cleanser and water. You can use makeup remover, whatever is appropriate for you. Just make sure you get all the makeup off your face. Secondly, you want to moisturize. If you have a dryer skin tone, you want to make sure you get a nice creamy moisturizer that's really going to soak into the skin, so that your skin doesn't look or feel dry. If you have an oilier skin type, you want to make sure you're using something oil-free and something that's going to be matifying so that you don't look shiny. I'm just using a normal everyday moisturizer for any skin type on Lizzie because she has normal to combo skin. I'm just putting it all over her face. Even around the eye area. You want to make sure you use moisturizer or a separate eye cream all around the eye area, especially when you're using concealers and powders around the eyes. These tend to seep into the creases, so you want to make sure that the eye area is very moisturized. Everything will go on so much smoother too. Don't neglect the neck either. Make sure you go down the neck with your moisturizer, because that's an important part of your face also. You want to make sure that looks good. Just make sure everything is blended in all over the face and it's evenly distributed. Then once all that's blended in, you can do a separate eye cream if you choose. Also, very importantly, a lip conditioner. Make sure, especially when you're wearing glosses and lipsticks in the winter time, your lips get cracked and they just don't look good. You want to make sure you really moisturize your lips day and night. If you do the lip moisturizer before you start your makeup, then by the time you get to your lips, your moisturizer will be all soaked in and your lips will be all nice and plump and primed for the application of your lipstick. Now we're ready to start with the foundation."
