"Before we start doing the makeup, you need to have a few things to acquire this look. The first thing you want to purchase is a really, really good dark lipstick. The Goth look isn't necessarily the red lip like I'm wearing. It's more of a deep dark blood red, or even like a deep dark burgundy. Almost black, but not black. You want to get a really nice lipstick. I'm going to use a really dark on her. You can use something a little lighter than this. You just want to make sure it's darker than a natural red. It can be a brick. It can be a burgundy. This is almost a black, but it's like kind of an eggplant color. You also want to get a lip liner that matches. These colors tend to bleed, so you want to match a lip liner and lipstick together so to keep the lipstick on longer and prevent it from bleeding. I have seen some Goth chicks with a glossier lip. If you want to do a glossier lip, that's up to you. You can do a deep dark eggplant gloss. Again, that's all personal preference. I like the more matte look. For foundation, you want to get a matte foundation. This look is all about the matte skin. A matte foundation, powder. You want to get it either your natural skin tone or a tiny bit paler, because this look you don't want any color to your skin at all. Except for the eyes and lips, there's really going to be no color to the skin. We're not using blush or shimmer, nothing like that. You want to invest in all black eye products. Black eye liners. You can do pencil or liquid. Black mascara, a really dark black eye shadow. It's all about the black around the eyes. Lips, deep and dark. Rusty reds, burgundy. Eyes, lots of black."
