"Hi, this is Joylyn Everett. This is my lovely assistant Bridget for Expert Village in beautiful Malibu, California. We're going to be talking about punk icons and symbols. Most punk things have stars, tattoos, skulls, bullets, iron crosses, cherries, swastikas. It kind of depends on your style of punk. As you can see, Bridget has the pin-up style with the sailor tattoos and kind of the more old fashioned stuff. We've got this cherry shirt here, halter style. Vintage. We've got little punk rock undershorts with skulls and stars. We've got cool tennis shoes with the star laces. We've got a glow in the dark star belt buckle and, of course, safety pins. Always have to have safety pins. We've got the little skull necklace. We've got our pink hair dye, a punk rock staple. We've got shoes with the keys, and the hearts, and the skulls and we've got our lovely corduroy star purse. As you can see, you can find these icons or symbols on just about anything: purses, shoes, jewelry, clothing, belt buckles...just about anywhere you look. Most of the hardcore punks go for the swastikas and iron crosses. I of course like the cherries and the skulls, as you can see by my shirt. There's punk rock tattoos that also incorporate these symbols. My studded belt with the star skirt and of course, the safety pin. And we have these cool glittery shoes going on over here."
