My name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona and we’re here today to show you some tips and techniques for pinpointing the muscle groups for a massage. We’re here working into the pec area, right above the sternum and the ribcage and it’s a nice round muscle, slightly goes into the collar bone area and into the armpit. You can feel the attachments like little strings that attach from this big ball muscle and follow it into, it gives you jump even. So what you want to do is you can identify this muscle with you hand. It’s a nice round muscle right here. From the collar bone into the arm here, over the chest cavity, it doesn’t go past the sternum. Right here, two separate sides. Nice round muscle, you can feel the attachments as they come into the shoulder. They feel like strings all the way around. This is a nice muscle to actually just roll and manhandle if you will. This muscle also helps to release the trap muscle that’s in the back; they counteract each other. A lot of times when you’re working this one, also work the trap muscle at the back into the shoulder.
