My name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona and we’re here today to show you some tips and techniques on pinpointing muscle groups. Moving into the quad muscles of the thigh. Very obvious attachments all right here round the leg. There are 4 major muscles in this group. One that goes up the center, so a simple pinching, without afflicting pain of course, muscle that goes right up along the center from the knee into the leg joints. Another one along the side comes here from the knee into and under that top muscle, attachment point right here. A lot of athletes, a lot of runners have injuries in the quad muscles. Along the side and up is the third muscle. You can feel it with the fingers. The fingers are giving it a stretch as you’re going, as you’re pulling away from the leg into the hip. You can follow the muscles. The muscles let you know where they’re at and the fourth comes along the outside, runs around that center muscle and into a point of attachment at the top of the leg. Your fingers will feel it, good stretch along the way. You can feel the fibers in the muscle that are letting you know where it’s at and stretch. You can work the muscles all at the same time, just not working away from each other but towards each other.
