"Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona. We’re giving you tips and techniques for identifying muscle groups today. So into the lower leg by applying pressure and with a man’s leg, they have a little bit more hair than the ladies do, so you want to use a little more of your lotion or your oil that you use. By the simple act of applying the lotion, you can feel the muscles. You feel the bone that goes right up the center and the muscle splits into two segments right there. You have a muscle up here and a muscle up here. They separate themselves, you can feel again where they separate, the separate point and the attachment point behind the kneecap. We have the soleus and the gastrics or the gastrocs and it’s simple. They split, they come into two, you have your hamstring that runs along the middle with the bone and they bulge as you go over them. You can feel the bulge; you can see the bulge by identifying. So basically, using the forefinger and the thumb, you can wrap yourself around the muscle and feel its attachment and its separation points. "
