"Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona, and we’re here today to show you some techniques for sports massage. We’re in the stretching phase of the muscles. Using PNF techniques, the athlete actually helps stretch and warm up his muscles during the massage. What I’m going to have you do is lift you leg here. I’m going to put your foot on my shoulder and I want you to push down as I’m going to push forward using 20%. We’re stretching the hip; we’re stretching the quads and into the flexor muscles of the lower leg, and relax. I'm just going to let him get his bearings here. I’m going to step forward slightly. I want you to use, again, pushing down against my shoulder. Flex your toe, and relax. Also, remember to keep breathing while you’re doing that because you’re trying to send oxygen to the muscles. And because I’m not tall enough, I’m going to come all the way up here. I want you to do the same thing using 60% of your muscles. You can see he’s slightly having a little difficultly because the muscles are starting to bounce. So applying a little pressure to the center, and relax. Okay, flex the foot. This one, because we got some reaction to that, we would probably do that a series of 3 or 4 times. "
