"Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona, and we’re here today to show you some tips on sports massage and assessment of injuries. Right now, one of the specific for the deltoid muscle, this nice round muscle on the top of the arm here. You take the clients arm, and you’re going to put your hand like this on the bottom, supporting the elbow, and have him lift his shoulder. Using your arm, try and lift your shoulder. Do you feel any pain? Just in a different position, you can see that the muscle is engaged. The muscles around are engaged. He’s not feeling any pain; there’s no trembling going on, so the assessment would be that this muscle is fine and acting as it should. Relax. "
