"Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona, and we’re here today to show you some pointers on sports massage. We’re going to trigger point some muscle groups right now in assessment of muscle strength. A big injury that does happen to athletes is right here in the rhomboid area. Just in feeling the curve of the muscle, you’ll be able to feel that there’s a tear simply by inflammation, the way the muscle reacts to the pressure, and to where the points of attachment are located. What I am going to have him do is lift his arm straight and we’re going to pull his arm up for him, he’s going to push down against my arm, and we’re going to see where the points of constraint are here in the arm. Go ahead. Okay. The muscle is referring pressure here. Are you feeling any pain? And relax. The deltoids, triceps, the biceps and into the rhomboids all have muscle attachment to each other. If there was an injury, you would see inflammation right away and he would also feel the heat of that injury. "
