"Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona, and we’re here today to show you some sports massage techniques. I use a technique called PNF, and we’re going to work into pectoral region. We’re going to give some nice stretch into the pecs and into the arms and shoulder blade. Again, we’re engaging the client, the athlete himself, into stimulating his muscles with me. In a kind of swinging motion, you’re going to push your hand towards me, against me, using 20% of your body’s capability, and relax. You see he engages into the pecs, into the shoulder, into the arm. Again, using 40%. I’m slightly pushing against him; he’s pushing against me, and relax. Using stretch energy blood flow to achieve the strengthening and the stretching that we need. Again, going 60%, and relax. This will help him relax and bring some stretch back in there. This is a good way to stretch a cold muscle. Again, using the palm of your hand, follow the pec into the arm. Try to lift your arm like this, just extend. You can feel the muscle stretching. Relax your arm and follow that stretch into the shoulder. "
