"I'm going to do an eye shadow base. And a base is very important because before you start doing bright colors or any colors on the lid you want to do a base so you can start out on a clean palate and everything just goes on nice and smooth. And a base also acts as a highlight for under the brow and underneath the eye. So where you want to put the base is all over the eyelid, under the brow, all over the lid of the eye. You really want to concentrate it here. And you really can't mess up with the base. Normally you're using a light color or highlight color so you really just want to pile it on. So I'm going to use, since we're doing silvers, I'm going to use a base that goes with silvers. So I'm using kind of a silvery white that even has a pink fleck to it. It actually has an iridescence. It looks white in the pot, but goes on really sheer. You always want to make sure you test your colors on your hand, on your eyes, before you start working with them so you know what they're actually going to turn out to be. So, I'm going to use this color and I'm going to use this as a base. Do a little at a time. Just kind of go all over the eyelid. As you can see it looks white in the pot, but it doesn't look white on the eye. It's got just a natural iridescence. It just looks like a white shimmery silvery with even a pink little glow to it. So it's a great color to use for base, for highlight. It's very versatile. I'm going to concentrate it a little more under the brow because there are highlights and I'm also going to take it a little under the eye. That's going to highlight under the eye. It's just going to balance the eye. Whatever you do on the top you want to do a little bit on the bottom as well."
