Now that the eyes are done, we're going to finish off with the lips. We're going to use a pretty bright red. You want to get a lip color that you feel comfortable with, but if you notice, the old Hollywood starlets wore a pretty bright true red. Like Marilyn Monroe, Madonna. It's not an orangey red, and it's not a pink red. It's a really neutral red that most anybody can wear. First thing we're going to do is we're going to powder her lips. You want to get all the color out of her lips. You want to start with a blank canvas. Also, powdering your lips help prevent it form bleeding and it gives it a little bit of a longer wear. Then the lip liner. It's very important that you do a lip liner with your lipstick, because the lip liner is going to help prevent it feathering and it's going to help a long wear, and it's also going to give you a shape to your lips. You want to draw your lip liner on your natural lip line or a little underneath or above your natural lip line. That just depends on how big your lips are and how plump you want them to look. Elizabeth's lips are pretty plump, so I'm not going to draw too much over her natural lip line. If your lips are small, then that's what you want to do. You want to draw over your natural lip line. Then you want to fill in the whole entire lip just like you're drawing in with a crayon. After you line them, you want to fill in the whole entire lip. That's going to help long wear, and it's just going to make it look smoother. You want everything to be blended nicely. Then on to the lipstick. Again, very similar color to the lip liner. You want to match them almost perfectly. Then you want to draw in like you're coloring with a crayon again with your lip brush or your lipstick. You want to go over exactly where your lip liner is. This is a pretty matt red. You don't want anything that's glossy or glittery. You want something that's really matt. If you notice, in pictures of old Hollywood actresses, they never have glossy lips or sparkly lips. It actually looks more like a lip stain.
