How to Apply Lip liner for Prom Makeup

"Hi! This is Hollie and on behalf of Expert Village we’re going to talk about lining the lips. Having lip liner really defines and shapes the lips that nature gave you and you can always trick those lips into looking a little more fuller and a little more dramatic depending on the look that you’re going for. One thing to remember with the lips is this is the cupids bow on the top and the bottom is your smile line, you’ll always want to follow the outside line of the lips as you go around using inside strokes. So we’re going to pick a nice color for our liner I’m using a brush but you can also use a pencil liner or a self sharpening liner which will work well but I have an edged brush and we’re going to follow that lip line and I’m just going to bring it down I’m going to use a bright color so you can easily see what I’m doing and again bring that line up, we’re going to blend this in and follow that smile line because this brush is angled I’m able to do that. Things to remember on your liner if you want your lips to look larger you’re going to line with a lighter color than you’re going to use for your fill, if you want your lips to look smaller or less pronounced you’re going to use the same color, if you really want to tone your lips down so you have pretty large lips and you really want to tone them down you’re going to use a darker color than your fill color. Then again lining the lips simply is going around that lip line and we’re going to come back and smooth all that out with a q-tip and blend it in and that’s simply just lining the lips."
