"Thanks for hanging out. We gone through the steps of sectioning the hair, combing through our light spray away from the face and next we're going to go into the actual curl. What we're going to do is go into the mid section of the hair so you're going to want to start approximately about an 1" away from the scalp. And we are going to smooth the hair first with our curling iron, curl it through the mid section and be sure to stay at least 1/2" away from the scalp. You can always use your comb to measure you want to stay away from this scalp area because the heat will expand and you will burn your scalp. So you want to be sure for safety reasons to keep that away at least a 1/4" to a 1/2" away from scalp when curling. So with our subsection you're going to begin the smoothing and curling approximately about 1/2" to an 1" away from the scalp. A good way to measure that is to take your comb, put it in here and where the lift is, is where the smoothing and curling is going to begin. You want to be sure to stay at least a 1/4" away from the scalp because heat will expand and you will burn your scalp and you want to stay away from that for safety reasons. You will smooth curl and pin."
