"This will be the first step that I like to use while curling hair. First step I like to do is go through the hair with your wide tooth comb. Take sections with the rat tail part of it, be sure to make sure to keep it away from your clients eyes, you don't want to have a disaster in poking her eyes out. You want to make sure when you are doing yourself or clients hair to make sure that you are pointed in and it is facing away from them. Section through the hair always going away not near the eyes. I like to section smaller sections and the reason why is what we're doing is we're going through and combing through and knots that are in the ends. Any tangles that are in the ends starting off with your wide tooth comb. Take your next section repeat the process. If you do encounter any tangles that you can't get through that are a bit stuck and feel that you need to use something to lubricate the ends, you can go to your spray shine. And away from your clients face a little spray on the ends and come back through and it should easily slide right back through."
