"Hi! My name is Jan Cuni. I'm a professional hairstylist and hair colorist. I work for Plaza Salon in Paramus. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. I'm taking a small section with my comb. I'm just going to weave the hair into very thin pieces of hair. I'll place the foil underneath. I'll apply the lightener. I go very close, but you're not supposed to touch the scalp so I'm staying away from scalp. I have to cover. Another foil on top and I'm closing the foils. It has to be 1 inch apart one foil from another. We don't want too many highlights. We still like to keep a lot of our base. We're just going through a few highlights to break the base up a little bit so she has more contrast. Again, you go close to the scalp without touching the scalp. The highlight is going to last longer when you go very close. "
