"Hi. I am Dustin Williams. Here on behalf of expert village.com. Here at A.A. Callisters talking about different types of leathers that you will find in your boots. Basically, there is two major groups. One we have your chromium tanned. Which you'll find in this piece of leather. You'll see you'll find kind of a bluish green tent to it for this light, light color. In between the cross section here. Now this here, is what you use in some of the I hate to say it. Less expensive boots. It's a cheaper way of tanning process here. The best one I like to use in my boots and what I like to look for in my boots is vegetable taned. And you'll see it's a nice even, even clean coat all the way through. And most the boots you'll find on the market today are vegetable tanned. If you do have any questions because it's hard to tell in a boot. Because they do a lot of processes with them. And it's hard to tell which is which. Make sure you ask your retailer what your boots have been taned with. Ask for vegetables. Now, when you're looking for leather what you look for is the grain. And you'll see this here. This nice grainy, this is called the corum. That's that tangled weave mesh and the stronger this is the better the leather. All right. And those are just a few hints on picking out the right leather for your boot."
