Keeping a Winning Smile During a Beauty Pageant

"Hello I’m Erica Saylors and this is my assistant model, Ashley Charlton. I’m going to talk about a particular thing that is actually very hard to do in pageants and that is to smile continuously. Notice that Ashley has a beautiful smile, well that’s wonderful for pageants. The judges and the audience love to see a young lady with a beautiful smile. It is not physically possible to smile constantly, so make sure that you always have a pleasant look on your face. Ashley smile big for us, very good. Now smile like you’re not enjoying yourself. She looks nervous, make sure that when you’re smiling, you look confident and that you really, really are having a good time, otherwise it’s going to show and people are going to know. Now Ashley smile for me until I tell you to stop. Notice how she’s smiling very pleasantly, now in a minute she may get tired and maybe her lips will start quivering, maybe not. But one of the things that she’s doing is that she’s constantly keeping good thoughts going through her mind and to remind her why she’s here and that’s she’s enjoying herself. That’s going to help you keep smiling. Now Ashley, if you want to take a break what are you going to do? Exactly, she’s not going to frown and she’s not going to roll her eyes, she’s simply going to put her lips together, take a breaks, still have that pleasant look on her face and keep on going. Even if she stops smiling right now, she’s still smiling with her eyes and that’s the biggest trick of all. If you’re smiling with your eyes, then you’re showing people that you’re having a good time. You have that sparkle on your face and you’re ready to take on the world and you’re ready to win the pageant. "
