"For your onstage interview which is most of the time required for a pageant, the contestants are going to be asked questions you know from the host that's on stage. So you need to have a microphone and you need to pass it back and forth from the person who's asking the questions to the contestant that's answering them. You don't want the questions to be too hard. You can create the questions at an easier moderate level depending on what age they are. But you know it can be a good idea to let them see the pool of questions that you come up with before the day of the pageant so that they kind of have an idea of what's coming. Just don't tell them which question that they're going to get. They're not going to know because they're going to draw it out of the basket. Either have a basket or hat or some kind of container so that after you have written your question in the piece of paper, you can open it up, or they can open it up, look at the question, read it and they can answer it. That's the best way to do a question and answer session on stage."
