How to Prep the Face for Makeup

"ERIN KEITH: Hi, I'm Erin and you're watching Expert Village, and today we're going to be working on corrective base makeup. Okay, first off, we need to start our prepping the face. Now today, [PH] Jamie has already prepped her face but I am going to take you through the steps to do it. There are three main steps that I'd like to take. First off is cleansing the face. Now, you can either do that with a foam wash or you can do it with one of the--maybe makeup remover wipes, which I like to use the Pond's Clean Sweep wipes. They are really good with removing the makeup. They also have Vitamin E on 'em and they moisturize at the same time. Next off, you need to tone the face. I normally don't recommend anything with alcohol in it so I've actually gotten used to and I really enjoy using the witch hazel, the Rose Petal Witch Hazel toner and it cleans off all the dirt in your pores, everything like that, and it also moisturizes at the same time. And the last part is you really need to moisturize. Moisturize is the best part about this because after going through all these steps, you can also get dry skin. It can flake and it can also affect the application of your makeup. So, just any kind of moisturizer that's easy on your face, any hypoallergenic is probably better to use."
