"Hi, on behalf of Expert Village I'm Garen Palmer and this is the Ritz Tuxedos. Right now I'm going to show you how to measure the proper length for a tuxedo pant. The tuxedo - you want it to come right down to about the top of the heel of the shoe and to do that we either do an outside measurement which is called an out-seam. You are probably more familiar with an inseam which is measured from the instep down. If you're buying pants and say you buy a pant that is 30-32, that 32 is an inseam but we measure from outside seam most of the time and how to do that is first make sure they pull the pants up to where they should be. Don't have it down here where the low riders are, up around the waist then you put your tape right there at the top of the pant, by the top of the belt and you go down the side of the leg, measure down to about the top of the shoe right there and that's about the right length you need. The most important thing is you don't want the pants too short. No one wants floods, so make sure you pull, ask them to pull the pant up to where they normally wear pants, measure down, be a little generous if anything, a little longer than you think it needs to be. Usually when they put the pant on, they'll be just right. Take your time on that one; make sure they've adjusted their waist. You really don't want short pants - that's terrible."
