"If you suspect that there is something in the signs and symptoms of a mole or a freckle or a new lump or spot that you feel you're not comfortable with talk to a doctor and get professional advice and management of that. The first thing a doctor would do is that they're going to look at that legion or that freckle or mole or spot and they will do a biopsy. A biopsy is a way where clinicians can take some tissue out of that legion or that spot or freckle and they take it pathology and then pathology can look at it and see by the profile and the mythology of those cells where it's cancer or not. If you are diagnosed with a skin cancer, then the next stage would be...the physician would say to you okay you have several options depending on the stage of the cancer. The most common is of course surgery to excision, or to cut out in layman's term, the cancer. A lot of it if you can diagnose it early, and that's the key, diagnosing the cancer early, then they can do an office procedure. It's a very simple procedure done in the office in less than half an hour or even 10 minutes. So surgery is number one option for most of these skin cancers. Number two is chemotherapy. Once you need chemotherapy it means that the cancer has spread in your body. That is something that I don't recommend that you get to see once you a doctor. The second option is chemotherapy and then of course the third one is radiation therapy."
