"So Dr. Jewell, obviously, wearing a hat helps up from sunburn. Right. There are many ways. It's so important to prevent sunburn because in this country alone there's over a million newly diagnosed cases of skin cancer and at least 7,000-10,000 will die of skin cancer a year in the United States. That high? That's published by the American Cancer Society. Number one thing you need to do, everybody needs to do is have protection against the ultra violent light from the sun. Prevention is wearing a hat of course number one, and of course is the obligatory sunglasses, but make sure your sunglasses has UV protection on it because some of the cheaper brands don't have that. They usually have a label or tag. They would, yes, so you need to make sure. Otherwise, it doesn't really give you any protection at all. You need as much protection if you're going to be out in the sun all day and if you're going to sun bathe on the beach. Of course, we have the different kinds of sunscreen, sun blockers. Absolutely, need to put lots and lots of sunscreen on your body if you're outside, out doors in the sun all day. There are different SPF, which is different level of protection that you can get. I've got 30 and then this is a 50. Some of the tanning lotions because people put it on because they really want a good tan, but it doesn't have much protection and it's like 5 SPF, 10 SPF. That doesn't give you any protection. You can get a good tan, but then you can also get skin cancer later on down the road. I didn't bring any of that for us to see. Anyway, just be aware of the products your buy in the shops and look always for the SPF number. The higher the number, the more protection you get."
