How to Apply Color to the Toe Nails in a Home Pedicure

" Hi, I am Danielle DeCamp with Intuition Salon and Spa. I am the footcare specialist here. Now after we let the base coat dry, we are going to apply the color that our client has previously picked up. So what you are going to do is make sure that when you are applying the color, you go all the way down to the cuticle and you also want to make sure that you are going all the way around the nail and if you have to pull down the little skin on the side of her toenail so you can get down in there and make sure you cover the entire nail. Make sure you do this on both sides and you are going to continue with this procedure until the nails are completely polished. And it is good to be very careful when you are using dark colors because they do show up a lot better. So you do want to get all the way in there. In general, the rule of thumb for polishing nails is to use just three strokes to the cuticle and it goes without saying that you are also going to get a little bit on the outside of the nail, but don’t worry about that. When you are finished go ahead and take your orangewood stick and clean that up with some acetone. Now after you apply the first coat, you are going to apply the second coat to make the color last longer."
