" Hi! My name is Dawn Shannon for Expert Village, owner of Intuition Salon and Spa I’m also a hairstylist and a colorist. Okay so we’re now going to rinse the hair, I’m quickly going to remove the foils I’m wearing gloves to protect my skin. You want to make sure that the hair is in the sink and you want to do this quiet fast, I’m going to rub the hairline to get the color off the skin. When you do hair color and you’re shampooing you want to make sure that the water is cooler it helps seal the cuticle and keep the color from coming out of the hair. You want to make sure you get the color underneath their neck, all around their face, you can have them lift their head and tilt all the way back, then you want to select the correct shampoo you want to use something that’s gentle and works well with hair color. This is also a good time in working the hair color on the skin off you can go ahead and rub like this, make sure it’s not stuck to their skin and I’m going to very lightly shampoo her hair because after this we’re going to do what’s called a toner. And again you want to rinse with cooler water, make sure this is okay with your client as some people really don’t like cold water or cooler water, you want to rinse until the water runs clear and that’s how you rinse color out of the colored hair."
