" Hi! My name is Dawn Shannon for Expert Village, owner of Intuition Salon and Spa. I’m now going to proceed to go ahead and put the lowlights in between the highlights, I’m going to start from the back and do one in between all of the highlights. I’m going to start back here because this generally tends to be the darkest part on the top area of the hair and I’m going to do these even finer than I did the highlights and I’m going to do it smaller sections so it works with the wider sections and helps to blend in. Doing a couple of different techniques on one head helps sometimes to make it look more natural and make it more interesting, again I’m lightly putting it up at the root area and working it through the ends. You want to be very careful when you’re doing techniques like this that you don’t disturb the other foils so I always gently move them around if necessary but it’s really best not to have to touch them at all. I tightly pull on the hair when putting the foil on so it doesn’t move around and I can get a better effect, make sure you get the color thoroughly on from top to bottom otherwise you can be left with spots. Now the reason I did the highlights first is those generally take a little bit longer to process and that they have to do more work lighting the hair and then this doing the lowlights because this just has to slightly lighten up the hair a little bit and deposit. Carefully lifting up the foil. Okay so I’ve gone ahead and I finished the lowlights I put it in between every other oil except right in the front as I’m trying to create a lighter effect in the very front area around the hairline and now we’re going to move on to putting the root color on in between the foils.
