How to Mix Hair Color When Highlighting Hair

" Hi! My name is Dawn Shannon for Expert Village, owner of Intuition Salon and Spa I’m a hairstylist and a colorist and you can visit us on the web at www.intutionsalonandspa.com. I’m now going to go mix the color and a few things that I’m going to take into account in mixing Tanya’s color is first of all I’m going to do her hair a slightly dark brown with a little bit of gold and really all I’m going to use is about a half of shade darker than what she is with just a tiny bit of gold. I’m going to be very careful up here at the scalp as of the scalp is much warmer than this part of the hair and I’m going to use less gold here to about this point and the rest from here down I’m going to use more gold. Before I put that on I’m going to put very natural looking fine streaks of a medium gold blond. I’m going to actually use a neutral tone to achieve this being she already has gold in her hair, I’m then going to do a very neutral brown using an ash brown and a natural brown in order to get the neutral brown and I’m going to work all of these together."
