" Hi! My name is Dawn Shannon for Expert Village, owner of Intuition Salon and Spa and I’m also a hairstylist and colorist, you can also visit us at the web at www.intuitionsalonandspa.com. Now I’m going to show you how to prepare the skin and hair before you do the color. So basically what I like to do right before the color is just comb out their hair because this makes the color take more evenly and more smoothly. Sometimes if you don’t comb it out depending on the type of hair you’ll actually see bumpy little things in the hair where if you have combed out nicely and smoothly it takes much better. I always put a wax around their hairline if I’m going to be doing all over color so not to stain their skin. I put it on quiet heavily especially with darker hair color all the way around the hairline and then sometimes I do it down around their neck. Even sometimes I’ll put it on the tops of their ears so we don’t stain those and if someone had just teeny little hairs the hair color can actually color the little hairs on their ears. They are getting this around her hairline, getting the top of the ear again, down around the neck and just be very careful not to get into their hair. Then you are ready to color their hair."
