How to Protect Clothes When Highlighting Hair

Now we’re going to go over how to protect your client from getting hair color on their clothes which is actually very important as hair color can be very messy and it can ruin their clothes and then you have to buy them new ones. So first thing we’re going to do is we’re going to have Tanya go in the bathroom and change into a smock. Okay so then when she’s dressed into a smock I’m going to put a towel under her hair around her neck and put her cape on, it’s best to use capes that are water resistant but it’s still good to be safe as color can still soak through them. Make sure you know it’s not too tight on them and then I like to double towel and then put one over the also protect the cape and you want to make sure that the cape is outside of the chair and that’s how we prepare the client for hair color."
