"Hi this is Debra Windsong with Expert Village. In this segment I'll show you about watches and making watches. A lot of it is basically like making a bracelet. You do want to keep a couple of things in mind. First of all, you'll need to purchase your watch face, and there are many kinds of designs out there, and even colors, so you can start with that. Then you'll want to match your beads accordingly. Again, I'm using wire, and I've chosen to use dividers on my one style here to make a two stranded, and then a single strand on my other style. It kind of depends on your watch face too, as to which beads you use as far as how fancy the face of the watch is. If it's a fancier watch face, then you'll want to choose maybe some metal beads, or some more of the higher end gemstone beads to go along with that watch face. If it's a casual watch face, you might just use some fun stones. Again on the clasps, you can choose to use a trigger clasp or a hook clasp, or I guess even a toggle clasp would be okay too. As far as length, the best idea is to measure your wrist first, and if it's a gift, measure that person's wrist first. You can use the same techniques I use for bracelets as far as making it an adjustable length if you're not sure what the length of the wrist is, and that's to have a trigger clasp with a length of chain on either side so it will be adjustable."
