"Hi this is Debra Windsong with Expert Village. In this section I'm going to show you a little bit about the tools that you'll need to make your jewelry pieces. Some of the tools you're going to need are cutters. I have a pair of heavy cutters here and I have a pair of lighter cutters. The heavy ones you'll want to use for the wire and the lighter ones are best for when your work is very fragile and you have to get up close to your gems. You also need to be able to bend your wire and for that you have round nose pliers. You can get a couple of different sizes and you'll be taking wire and wrapping it around your round nose pliers, so that's important. So then you need some of these regular kind of pliers, these long, flat nose pliers. They'll be good for bending your wire as well and shaping and opening up your rings to put your clasps onto. The other thing that you will be doing with the flat nosed pliers is to squeeze what you call crimps when you're fastening your clasps onto your necklace or bracelet. There is another technique though and that you would use a crimp plier and what that does is folds your crimp in half and it enables you to be able to put a crimp cover over it easily and you can hide that crimp."
